If you grew up in the 80’s you’ve likely heard of the series Dallas. We recently watched the original series and we’re hooked! J.R. Ewing is the villain you’ll love to hate. His one liners make him one of my favorite characters on the show. The series was very successful and ran from 1978-1991. There was a remake made in 2012, and some of the original cast were part of that! I love the remake as well, and still occasionally watch it.

We were excited to hear about the Southfork Experience! We purchased our tickets, packed up our cowboy hats, and hit the road to visit “The World’s Most Famous Ranch”

Visit the “Dallas” museum and take a tour of the home.

Outside the home, on the patio, you will find the original table that all the outdoor breakfast scenes were filmed around. Be sure to have a seat and take a photo while you’re there.

I was excited to see the well known Southfork driveway. When the show originally aired, the trees lining the driveway were small. Now they’ve formed somewhat of a tunnel and cast a nice shading. You can freely walk the area and take photos as well.

After you tour the famous home, you can hangout by the pool. This is my favorite spot at the Ranch! Some of my favorite scenes from the show were shot poolside.

Ride like a Ewing!

If you visit Southfork horseback riding is a must. Riding horses on the land surrounding the Southfork Ranch was amazing for this Dallas fan! The riding instructor gave great instructions and tips for the ride. I felt at ease and comfortable with riding. To save time, reserve your ride online before your arrival.

The Southfork Experience
The Southfork experience allows guests to mingle with their favorite actors from the series! We were excited to meet the cast, all of them were very friendly. Many original cast members were available for meet and greets. Barry Corbin, who also played “Uncle Bob” on Urban Cowboy, was there too. The Southfork experience was a weekend filled with delicious food, shopping, meet and greets, and a concert. This event is surely a thrill for any Dallas Series fan!
Meeting the Cast

Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing) is the sweetest person, her kindness shines from her smile! Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing) is just as bubbly as ever! Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Steve Kanaly (Ray Krebbs) were kind and cordial also.

Josh Henderson, who played John Ross Ewing in the series remake, was very friendly. He put on a music concert at the event.
